P-value

A dimensionless heavy-fuel stability parameter indicating the available solvency for keeping asphaltenes dispersed relative to their solvency requirement. A higher P-value generally indicates a greater stability reserve, but the test method and interpretation criteria must be stated because P-value is a supplementary, method-dependent assessment rather than an ISO 8217 specification property.
