Filter blocking tendency (FBT)

A standardised measure of the tendency of a middle-distillate or similar fuel to restrict a specified test filter as the fuel passes through it. The numerical result depends on the test procedure and filter used, so these should be stated; a higher FBT generally indicates a greater risk of filtration difficulty under comparable conditions.
