Copper strip corrosion

A standard test in which a polished copper strip is exposed to a fuel or other petroleum product under prescribed conditions and the resulting tarnish is compared with a reference scale. It indicates the potential presence of compounds corrosive to copper, particularly reactive sulphur species, but does not predict corrosion of every material in service.
