Filterability

The ability of a fuel, lubricant or other fluid to pass through a filter under stated conditions without unacceptable restriction or blockage. It is influenced by particle contamination, wax, sludge, water, microbial material, temperature and filter characteristics, and should not be inferred from visual appearance alone.
