Red diesel

The common UK term for marked gas oil dyed red to show that it has been supplied under a rebated-duty regime. Red diesel describes fiscal marking rather than a distinct performance grade, and whether it may be supplied to or used by a yacht depends on the jurisdiction, voyage, craft status and intended propulsion or non-propulsion use.
