Hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO)

A paraffinic renewable hydrocarbon fuel produced by hydrotreating oils or fats to remove oxygen and convert them into diesel-range hydrocarbons. HVO is chemically different from FAME and may also be produced from waste oils or animal fats despite the term "vegetable oil"; suitability depends on the delivered specification and engine-maker requirements.
