Extreme pressure (EP) additive

An additive that increases load-carrying capacity by reacting at highly loaded, hot contact points to form a protective sacrificial film. EP additives help prevent welding, scoring and seizure, but some chemistries can affect copper alloys or other materials and must be suitable for the equipment.
