A contemporaneous written record that one party objects to an event or condition during a delivery, such as an apparent shortage, unsafe procedure, sampling refusal, delay or document discrepancy. It should state the facts, time, persons involved and reservation of rights, but it does not by itself prove a claim or replace any contractual notice-of-claim requirements.
