Claim time bar

A contractual deadline by which a claim, notice or supporting documents must be submitted. Failure to comply can extinguish or restrict the claim even if the underlying complaint is valid, so the required recipient, form, content and deadline must be checked in the governing terms rather than assumed from industry practice.
